Our time at the Jan Michalski Foundation delivered exactly what the work needed: quiet, focus, and generous conversations. In Montricher, moving between Lausanne, the valleys of Valais, and traces of Rilke’s paths, we worked intensively on Incident—structure, scene rhythm, and dialogue. Days were for pages; nights for reading, notes, and small tests that clarified tone.

Equally important were the exchanges with writers from around the world, each bringing a different lens on memory, truth, and responsibility. We left with a stronger, more refined draft.
